Help and support
Answers to common questions, and how to get in touch.
Send a support ticket
Describe the problem or question and it goes straight to the support inbox. Include the email you want the answer sent to.
Tickets are sent to dvapptester1@gmail.com, SplitLog's support inbox, and are used only to answer you. If the form cannot send, it opens your mail app with the ticket filled in instead.
For a full walk-through of the app, see How to use SplitLog.
Your data
Where are my workouts stored?
On your iPhone, inside the app. SplitLog has no accounts and no server. See the privacy policy.
I got a new iPhone. How do I bring my workouts?
Follow Moving to a new iPhone. In short: save a backup file on the old phone first, then restore it on the new one if the workouts did not arrive by themselves.
I deleted SplitLog, or lost my iPhone. Can my workouts be recovered?
Only from a copy you made: a SplitLog backup file, a spreadsheet export, or an iPhone backup from before the loss. The developer has no copy and cannot recover it for you.
The restore says my file is not a SplitLog backup
Pick the file that SplitLog saved, whose name starts with splitlog-backup and ends in .json, or a spreadsheet that SplitLog exported, ending in .csv. Files that were edited by hand or made by another app may not be readable.
How do I delete a set or a workout?
Swipe it to the left. A short swipe shows a Delete button, and a long swipe deletes it straight away. You can also hold a workout to see its options.
How do I delete everything?
Open Settings, then Erase everything, and confirm.
Using the app
How is a personal record decided?
A set is marked PR when its weight is higher than the heaviest you have logged for that exercise in any earlier workout. Warm-up sets do not count.
How does the streak work?
A week counts when you train on at least as many different days as your weekly goal. Weeks run Monday to Sunday. You can change the goal in Settings.
Reminders are not showing up
Check that notifications are allowed in iPhone Settings, then Notifications, then SplitLog, and that reminders are switched on in the app's Settings. A Focus mode can also silence them.
The widget shows old numbers
The widget updates when you open SplitLog. Open the app once and return to the Home Screen.
SplitLog says it couldn't open my log
Close SplitLog completely and open it again. If the message returns, free up storage space on the iPhone and restart it. Your earlier workouts are still stored. If it keeps happening, send a ticket above before deleting the app, as deleting it removes the log.
